Princess Me
It’s a happy day
Such a happy day
But I think it’s time
That I went and got away
It’s a pretty dress
Such a pretty dress
And when I put it on
I become the princess
So I get away
Go and getaway
To my castle
Where I love to run and sing and play
With my people there
All my people there
And they love me cause
I’m beautiful and always care
Then there’s sleepiness
So much sleepiness
So I’ll head to bed
To dream about my princess dress

About the poem Princess Me:
One of the things I love most about Julia is her fantastic imagination. With a full line of princess (and non-princess) dresses, she throws on a new dress and voila she’s changed. On any given day you can walk into our house and find Princess Julia and Princess Lily acting their parts (if Luke is lucky he’ll be a prince and not a horse and carriage). This poem just looks to capture a small piece of that magic.
