Eject
this long pedal
makes it go fast
the big fat one
makes it go slow
the round one
makes it go side to side
so tell me what is this red handle fo’?

About the poem Eject:
The thought of having an eject button in a car is awesome. Why not? As a kid I saw black and white films, cartoons and even planes with eject buttons – it’s a time-proven idea.
So, here is the challenge, how do you make the eject button funny.
First I had to figure out whom to eject, the reader or the passenger? I settled for the reader – why not take you on a ride.
Then I had to figure out how to make it funny. I figured getting ejected from a car unexpectantly would be much better than if you saw it coming.
Finally, I figured I would give the reader the punch line right in the title (Jeopardy style), sort of an experiment to see how much weight is attributed to the title. So, let me ask you… did you get it the first time?
